Summary/Objective

The Autonomous Products Lead must observe all relevant actions related to autonomous assembly quality through production and work individually with each assembler's skills and knowledge to ensure jobs are running correctly.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Ensures all employees are following safety guidelines and safety training methods, working in a safe manner
  • Confers with Autonomous Products Supervisor to coordinate assembly cells and activities within assembly cells
  • Inspects materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions and report any concerns to the assembly supervisor: if parts are non-conforming have the parts removed from the assembly area
  • Verifies routing times have been provided and employees are achieving those times and maintaining times throughout the assembly process as well as looks ahead for upcoming work in assembly cells
  • Inspects job travelers before starting job to ensure routing steps are correct and products are properly tagged
  • Interprets specifications of prints and routing steps while reviewing packing from kitting: accepting or denying if the kit will add time to an assembler and assists assemblers in the process of getting job laid out and started
  • Must be able to read and understand prints on a high level, and understand the intent of the design
  • Recommends to engineering / operations any improvements to designs as necessary
  • Informs Department Manager of any trends seen within the manufacturing process that do not comply with designs
  • Provides service support to Jtec employees during field visits or dispatches
  • Schedules jobs in alignment with ship by dates and direction from supervisor/managers
  • Troubleshoot, rework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assemblies.
  • Create or update assembly work instructions.
  • Perform layout and the modification of metal, and plastic enclosures/panels
  • Build and troubleshoot electrical systems including, but not limited to control panels, control stations, and junction boxes
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and aid with determination of short-term & long-term solutions
  • Counts all excess parts and tag with part number and quantity before notifying material handlers of completion
  • Creates and maintains a clean and organized shop and work areas: no tools laying around work areas and old fixtures are not laid about assembly areas
  • Other duties/jobs as assigned by Fabrication Supervisor or other members of management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • 5+ years of production manufacturing experience, preferably in a metal fabrication industry
  • 2+ years' electrical experience preferred, 3+ years preferred with control panel wiring on industrial control systems and components (relays, PLC's, contactors, power supplies, etc)
  • Low Voltage DS experience required

Technology

  • CAD Schematic experience preferred, not required
  • Windows PC proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite
