About the Role

The Coatings Assistant / Painter I supports powder coating and industrial finishing by preparing, hanging, and packaging parts to ensure high‑quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, wipe, and mask parts before coating
• Hang and remove parts safely and to standard line density
• Inspect parts for scratches, defects, or damage
• Load/unload parts using manual or mechanical methods
• Maintain accurate counts and documentation for finished products
• Package coated items with correct dunnage to prevent damage

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

Working Conditions

• Industrial metal fabrication environment
• Exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, and heat
• PPE required, including a properly fitted respirator
• Full-time, 40 hours/week with potential overtime

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Frequent bending, reaching, standing, and material handling
• Must pass respirator fitness requirements
• Ability to work safely in a safety‑sensitive environment
